EMEA Response to NIH RFI - June 2016

European ME Alliance Response to RFI Notice Number: NOT-NS-16-024 Request for Information: Soliciting Input for New Research Strategies for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME)

June 2016

EMEA: PRESS RELEASE – For Immediate Release

The European ME Alliance (EMEA) has responded to the Request for Information from the National Institues of Health Notice Number: NOT-NS-16-024 Request for Information: Soliciting Input for New Research Strategies for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME)

The European ME Alliance is a collaboration of 13 ME organisations in European countries who have the common aim of promoting biomedical research into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and increasing awareness of this debilitating neurological illness.

The EMEA response is an approach to research based on international collaboration and using the opportunity of transatlantic coooperation between NIH consortium of research laboratories and the European ME Research Group (EMERG).

Following the recent Invest in ME Colloquium in London there is a palpable mood and momentum behind collaboration between researchers and we urge the NIH to take advantage of this new atmosphere which has been created and which can make rapid advances in high-quality biomedical research into this disease.

The letter to NIH is in the attachment above.
