EMEA Representative for the WHO Regional Office for Europe Youth4Health Initiative
EMEA News for October 2024
In 2023 the European ME Alliance received ‘
official Non-State Actor accreditation’ status
from WHO’s Regional Office for Europe during WHO Europe’s 73rd Regional Committee Meeting (RC73).
This status permits EMEA to participate in WHO Europe Regional Meetings and
to be represented in the Youth4Health initiative launched by WHO.
The Youth4Health network, WHO/Europe’s first-ever youth network, is a mechanism of the Youth4Health initiative, which connects youth organizations and young people to the work of WHO/Europe.
We are very pleased that Johanna Rohrhofer from EMERG member Dr Eva Untersmayr's group in Vienna, will be EMEA's representative and, by extension, also representing the European ME Research Group Early Career group Young EMERG.
As stated by Dr Hans Kluge - WHO Europe director - "Our #Youth4Health network symbolizes how we at WHO/Europe are ensuring young people have a say in health policy making impacting the generation of today - and those to follow. "
